A smile makeover combines several treatments into one coordinated plan. The order is deliberate: each phase creates the conditions the next phase depends on.
Phase one — health
Active decay, gum inflammation and failing old restorations are addressed first. Aesthetic work bonded to compromised tissue does not hold, and inflamed gums will not sit where the final design needs them.
Phase two — position
Moving teeth with clear aligners often reduces how much restorative work is needed later. Aligning a crowded tooth can mean a thinner veneer, or no veneer at all.
Phase three — color
Whitening is completed before final restorations are fabricated so porcelain and composite can be matched to your finished shade. Shades are typically allowed to stabilize for about two weeks before the match is locked in.
Phase four — shape and finish
This is where veneers, crowns, bonding and gum contouring bring the design together.
